I just wonder if why JKR don’t want to use other plan in moving harry’s from his aunties house at the few first episodes. They could use this plan… only harry drinks the polijus potion and turn to somebody else like mrs weasley or ginny. so that the death eater or voldys donno which one is harry potter, does it make more difficult for them?

Hey, I’ve missed you guys. It’s understandable, since all the Harry Potter stuff is over except these last couple movies. I think you should do an episode on your thoughts of the LOST finale and series as a whole, maybe even compare it with the HP universe in some way. Hope you’re doing well.

yeah i though it was pretty good i think she should carry on and write the prequel though. being an avid reader and massive fan of harry potter i think a prequel would be great maybe she should sell the rights and someone else could right it. I would right it.

I think that those who are brain washed by the church into thinking that there are only angels and fallen angels should keep to what they know go to you man made building and pray to your god and leave the children to make there own choices in life so they don’t make the mistakes that bible thumpers have made in the past you don’t hear of witches burning people cuz they might be a crist folower no they treat everyone equal even church people for peat sakes look at the religion you speak of and its past they did unheard of mean things and in some places still do and when did you last hear of a witch bending over a little boy yet its in every paper today in modern times about some preaist someplace doing that very thing its an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth right but then its forgive the sinners in the next sunday serman omg ok im lost how about lets make it simple love all and don’t do anything to harm someone or it may come back at you 3 folds i like that i know lots of wican peps that will give you there shirt off there back and would neaver hirt you and love the earth and its creachers yes there beleifes may be strange to you but steep back and think you pass a dish in a church and all put your % in it and i bet you can find 10 people in that same church that will stab you in the back just as they would look at you then you take a so called witch who will not take your money has no real intrest in your money in fact and she or he would die trying to help you even if you go to a church you need to step back and take a good hard look at things maybe even pick up a wican book and read it some time and see that yes there is dark books and light books and we are not all bad and even the bad ones are not all as bad as the church has brain washed people to think for so manny years they are just afreaid that if you go wican they wont get your money try this some time when the dish is passed stand up and say god told u to take all that is in the dish to the local cancer center and do this for a few weeks i bet they tell you oh you cant do that we need that money well….. try it then go to a true wican ceramony with an open mind and see what you think i bet you would be a so called witch by the end of a few of them and would not feel brainwashed or used and you would see that most witches are very enviromently freindly people as well and added bonus enuff said lol

I’ve recently discovered your podcast and am currently listening to episode 31 on my ipod while driving to and from work… I know, I know, my husband reminds me constantly that driving while listening to the ipod is dangerous. Fortunately, he’s not in the car while this happens, so he doesn’t have to worry.

Anyway, I’ve so enjoyed hearing your thoughts about Book 7 before it came out and can’t wait to get into the episodes where you rexamine your pronostications after having read the 7th book. While I’ve heard some other good podcasts (Secrets of Harry Potter and Wizarding Wireless), I enjoy hearing an adult discussion of the book from someone who has the same cultural reference point that I do. However, I must admit that my twelve year old daughter also enjoys your podcast.

I teach middle school history, litereature and composition and, like you, have never considered Harry Potter to be just a children’s book. There is hardly a writing technique, literary theme or mythological reference that isn’t in some way reflected in J.K. Rowling’s masterwork. Please keep prognosticating.

I think I will reserve judgment on Dawkin’s book or what he thinks of fantasy fiction until I get to read his book. I don’t really trust the telegraph’s information enough to have an opinion either way.

As far as the christian influences in Harry Potter, I really don’t see them. Harry didn’t (spoiler alert) win in the end because of faith in god or jesus, but because of his love for his friends and family. It is a kind of vague moral lesson that can be found in all religions, and even in the moral values of the nonreligious.

Harry Potter ends with harry killing voldermort. The Deathly Hallows are the cloak of invisibility,the resurrection stone and the Elder Wand. Voldermorts spell(Avada Kedavra!) bounced off harrys(expelliarmus!) and Voldermort dies.

ive just read that entry and i know what you feel like because the harry potter series changed a genration and it will contuineue to forever . readin that made me feel how grateful i am for these books from such a brillant , unique author who will never be replaced or forgotten , probley in a hundred years time , film directors will remake the films and people will feel how we do about it .

I loved your latest podcast and wanted to comment on your comment about the Draco/Harry storyline in the HBP movie. The black bird (evil) was released by Harry after his fight with Draco in the bathroom where he almost killed Draco. It was right after this that Draco finally let the death eaters into Hogwarts. On Pottercast’s review of the movie, they pointed out that Draco seems to have made up his mind after Harry almost killed him and I think it’s interesting that this is also when Harry released that bird.

Only thing is that Feb is a shorter month that March. If you look at Neilsen’s info for Feb vs. Jan, you will see roughly the same in reverse.. Still good news.
