Episode 101: The Lexicon and Steve Vander Ark

Hey everyone! Welcome back for episode 101. Steve Vander Ark joined us this week to talk about his book, The Lexicon: An Unauthorized Guide to Harry Potter Fiction and Related Materials. We enjoyed discussing the book and the process behind publishing it as well as some of the many different entries and ideas in the book. Steve even graced us with a reading of two of his favorite entries. You will enjoy hearing Steve talk about Harry Potter in general as well in this episode.

We look forward to hearing your comments and thoughts. Enjoy!

Good episode, guys. Kind of low volume on it but I managed to hear it just the same.

Certainly don’t agree on Canon matters but it was a good discussion you all had. Looking forward to being at Azkatraz. As long as there’s no conflict between John Granger’s, Travis’, & Steve’s presentations we’ll be good.

Is Steve planning on doing a herbology book for HP? That sounds interesting.

Thanks for so many great episodes!

I loved hearing from SVA again and the reading was AWESOME!
After hearing him read from it and his interview I bought the book.

I was also curious to know, What are your favorite Harry Potter companion books?

I would love to hear a podcast on this topic!!!

Sorry this comment is late, but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this episode! Steve’s interviews are always interesting, and it was great to hear him do the reading. I have the Lexicon, and right now I’m in the middle of “In Search of Harry Potter,” which is really a fun read.

I also enjoyed this interview and the readings…still regret we didn’t get the full (what was it, eleven pages?) entry on Snape. Hope everyone has a good time at Azkatraz!
