Episode #99.5: A Child and Harry Potter

Sorry, Episode 100 has not arrived yet. That episode is going to be pretty epic and we didn’t want to release it without giving it the preparation it deserves.

This is a VERY SPECIAL episode of HPProgs though. Join me (Penny) and my son, Ezra, as we bond over Harry Potter. It is definitely different than every other episode of HPProgs to date, yet no less special, in my humble opinion.

We can’t wait to hear your thoughts and Ezra is ready to correspond with you all ;)

Aww, that was really cute, you can definitely tell he’s Penny and Greg’s son. At least by his wit, and how he looks at the books, and all :)

    Happy birthday, Ezra!

  6. John Says:

Great podcast. Ezra sounds sharp and a real thinker. You can always tell kids who have parents that read to them at a young age, they have a real ability to think which comes out in so many ways.

Keep that open and good view of the world Ezra, it can take you far.

  7. Potters#1fan Says:

Happy birthday Ezra! I hope you had fun with your party! Look forward to the next episode!

  8. Delma Says:

HP with kids? I’m all about it! Read SS with my 3rd grader – in 2001, I think. (Then saw the first movie – and fell in love!) *swoon*

  9. Leanne Says:

Okay. That was really fun to hear. Good job, Ezra! (And you too, Penny. Loved the response you taught him about “hard labor.” Hilarious!! :)

  10. Beth Says:

Ezra, you express yourself very well. It was fun hearing about Harry Potter from a kid’s point of view. The game you’ve come up with sounds really cool. I like how you made it about the next generation of kids. Maybe it will be a reality some day! Hope we’ll hear more from you in the future!

Great episode. Happy belated birthday, Ezra. By the way, Chocolate Frogs aren’t anything special (the Muggle variety, I mean). Ezra’s top 10 list made me think even more about why I love the Harry Potter series.

  12. Neko Says:

    Ezra is ADORABLE.

  13. Moe W Says:

Yes, Ezra was cute and sweet, but he was much more than that.

The quality of the podcast Ezra presented reflected the amount of thought and preparation he put into getting ready for this podcast. This shows the commitment of a child with maturity beyond his years. Maybe it is purely due to his interest in the subject matter. If this is so, may he find his life’s bliss so he may continue such dedication.

Of course credit must be paid to parental guidance. What better example is there for children than demonstrating a love of learning, growing and reading? (Maybe a nudge or two.)
