Great to here from you guys! I totally agree with Greg, the Katie Bell clip was perfect… definitely my favorite part of the trailer!

I agree with Greg about the Inferi. I imagined them more human like too.
I imagined them like the bodies in the pond Frodo falls into in The Two Towers.
When Dumbledore appears when the train passes, it reminded me of the Matrix… and I laugh at that because I can’t take it seriously. I imagine Morpheus appearing instead.
I also agree with Penny that Ginny and Harry’s kiss doesn’t look awkward – especially if you compare it to Harry and Cho’s which was awful – but then again, we haven’t seen the whole scene yet… Hopefully it won’t be another Harry/Cho kiss moment. Blah! That’s not how people kiss for the first time.

Helen McCrory, the actress who plays Narcissa Malfoy, is only 40 years old, but she looks much older, IMO. She’s recently been on the TV show, Life, as the head of a private security firm, opposite her real-life husband, Damien Lewis. I think she looks at least 50 on that show, too.

Loved the podcast.
The trailer was amazing, but the extra Burrow scene bothers me. Hopefully it makes sense in some way in the context of the story. We’ll see.
Since I can’t stand Michael Gambon as Dumbledore I’m hoping he’ll die well.
Here’s looking forward to July 15. Darn, only two more films left after this one. It’s really coming to an end.

It was great to have a new podcast!
I also thought that the Inferi looked like Gollum! ^_^ I don’t have the book with me at the moment to verify, but I also thought that the Inferi were supposed to look like normal (though dead) humans. Isn’t that the horror of fighting the Inferi, that a wizard might end up having to fight the corpse of someone that he or she knew? (Or maybe I’m mixing up fanon with canon, as I read a lot of fanfic, but that does seem scarier to me than fighting a bunch of Gollums–no offense to LOTR.)

I agree that the inferi don’t like they should. And that scene is going to freak me out when I see it. In one of the scenes you can hear dumbledore say that “this is beyond anything I could have imagined” or something like that, but I don’t think that dumbledore in the book was surprised by what was happening. I think he was prepared for the worst. By saying that it makes him look like a weaker character.

kivs, thanks for finally giving me an opening for Gambon bashing! But maybe I shouldn’t bash him as much as the directors & writers. Because the Dumbledore portrayed in the movies especially from GOF on doesn’t really seem like the Dumbledore of the books. And as much as it pains me to say, I don’t think it’s entirely Michael Gambon’s fault.
We’re supposed to be shocked & surprised by the Dumbledore who shows up at the end of HBP breaking down drinking the potion & then we’re supposed to be surprised & mystified by Dumbledore all through DH. Why? Because Dumbledore was always presented as calm, cool, & collected. Hardly anything ever broke through his facade. He was always reliable until JKR deconstructed him for us.
But the Dumbledore of the movies, particularly since GOF, has been a much weaker character. There’s nothing really surprising or mystifying about him at all.

I agree that a lot of it is because of the writers but Gambon has never read the books so I don’t think he really understands the character

kivs, I just said I might not bash Gambon as much; not that I’d stop bashing his performance.

Love it! I missed you guys, but only just got around to listening! I agree about Helen McCrory looks wrong. I always saw Narcissa as a sort of very pretty, vain well dressed person.
Rhiannon: I agree about the inferi!
And Greg, yes it does look like the Deeping Wall at Helm’s Deep.

I agree with other posters about the Inferi… they totally used the Gollum thing, and especially as inferi are used in dark wizardry in place of actual humans they should look lots more human-like. I also can’t get over the rating, especially as the trailer makes it look very true to the horror and peril genre that comes out in the later books. I really really hope they haven’t just completely mis-quoted the entire book for a few minutes of hyped up spectacular trailer.
Ps. Love the podcast guys!

Sadly, it’s not available anymore, neither here nor through iTunes due to its content – at least, that’s what Firefox keeps telling me.
