Very interesting indeed. (Note to college-aged self: Bring lots of cash when you go to Florida for the HP Theme Park.)

Although the clowns are kind of creepy. What does Dervish and Banges even sell normally?

Hi everyone, I have a final draft of an essay I wrote for English. Tell me what you all think of it as well as my list of my favorite quotes from all the books. Enjoy!
Why people love the Harry Potter Series
There may be many reasons why people love the Harry Potter Series, and why millions of us read the books over and over again; each time learning something knew. The main and most potent reason is the depth and love we as readers have for the characters. Rowling has created a masterpiece full of characters we will never forget as long as we live and breathe. From the sometimes heroic and brave protagonist Harry to the calculating and mysterious Severus Snape; we have all come to love these characters and there life within these books has become intrinsically linked with our own.
We devoted fans go to conventions, have round table discussions, listen and host Podcasts and much more. These characters are firmly entrenched in our hearts and minds, so it is only natural for us to feel sad and even cry when one character or another dies. Some less devoted fans may say that this is stupid, why would you cry over a fictional characters death. The simple reason is that they have become apart of us.
From the first book to the subsequent six titles, we craved to know what would happen, we became so enthralled with the books we couldn’t get enough of them, and we would talk to each other online, from themes to romance and everything in-between. The truly great thing about this Series is much deeper than plot or characters however, it is the fact that so many people, and not just children, are under the “spell”. The books were meant for children, but have become a world wide cultural phenomenon. The Series has even spawned an entire music genre by the name of Wizard Rock that is very popular. The fact that people of all ages read the Series is a testament to its brilliance. The fact that the final four novels hold the record for being the fastest selling books in publishing history can not, I venture be denied, this record also shows that these are much more than whimsical children’s tales, but are full of the pain and dilemmas of real life.
I myself am not ashamed to say that I cried on many occasions while reading this Series, I cried for the characters I loved who died. Everyone loves this Series for its morals, as you read, you see that the most powerful magic on this earth is not incantational magic, but something much more profound, something that every human who comes in to this world has, something that can not be taken away from you. This ultimate power is incalculable, it is endless, and it is one of the most powerful themes in this Series and is what ultimately finished Lord Voldemort for good. If you have read this Series in its entirety, need I tell you what it is? Surely you already know? Without reading another word on this page, you can all tell me what this power is. Still don’t know what it is? Well, here are some facts: Voldemort never knew about Snape’s Solicitousness for Harry’s mother, therefore, he couldn’t see that Snape was on Dumbledore’s side from the moment Voldemort threatened her. Voldemort couldn’t see that Snape LOVED Lily and never wanted her dead despite what Harry thinks in the first six books. You guessed it; love is the one important theme and is the key to the end of the Series.
To put it simply, people love this Series because there is nothing to dislike about it. It has everything you want a good book Series to have. Even two years after the final book was published, they are still being bought to this day. They remain the most successful book Series of all time, and will stand times test as one of the greatest epics we will ever read. Don’t think you have to take my word for it, just look at the sales records and the millions of people who will never forget the bespectacled boy wizard, who grew up to be a loving man with the one thing he was denied as a child, a family. To those who read his story, he will remain a constant in our lives, always reminding us to make the right choice, not the easy one, As well as doing what is right for the ones we love. Harry is an altruistic and enigmatic character who has his share of flaws, we all have flaws, but despite these shortcomings, or perhaps because of them, he is nevertheless a person that we could all learn from.
One may ask the question, will we ever read a Series of this magnitude again? I think not, why you ask? Because the world of Harry Potter is completely unique. Yes there will be other books, yes there will be other best sellers, but never again will there be a Series that captures the hearts and minds of the Human race like this multi-layered Epic has done. There are many things in this world today that people do not agree on, but there is at least one thing that is universal. There is no barrier between people when it comes to this one thing, not your nationality nor even the tongue you speak. After having read this narrative, I will let you come to your own conclusion. I think you all know what the one thing is, at least those who read 199 chapters and 4134 pages.
Favorite quotes from the seven novels.
    Sorcerer’s Stone
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.” Dumbledore, page 214
“Always the innocent are the first victims,” [Ronan] said. “So it has been for ages past, so it is now.” Page 253
“There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it” Quirrell, page 291
“…to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.” Dumbledore, page 297″
“The truth.” Dumbledore sighed. “It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and therefore should be treated with great caution…” page 298
“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends.” Dumbledore, page 306
    Chamber of Secrets
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we are, far more than our abilities.” Dumbledore, page 333
    Prisoner of Azkaban
“That suggests that what you fear the most is fear it self. Very wise, Harry.” Lupin, page155
“You think the dead we loved ever truly leave us? you think that we don’t recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble? Your father is alive in you Harry, and shows himself plainly when you have need of him.” Dumbledore Chapter 22
“You no Harry, in a way you did see your father last night, you found him inside yourself.” Dumbledore Chapter 22
    Goblet of Fire
“Curiosity is not a sin. But we should exercise caution with our curiosity…” Dumbledore, page 598
“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.” Dumbledore, page 680
“Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.” Dumbledore, page 695
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.” Dumbledore, page 723
“”Difference of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” Dumbledore, page 723
    Order of the Phoenix
Professor Snape Chapter 24: “Fools who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked this easily — weak people, in other words — they stand no chance against his powers! He will penetrate your mind with absurd ease, Potter!”
Dumbledore Chapter 37: Is there a defense? I defy anyone who has watched you as I have — and I have watched you more closely than you can have imagined — not to want to save you more pain than you had already suffered. What did I care if numbers of nameless and faceless people and creatures were slaughtered in the vague future, if in the here and now you were alive, and well, and happy? I never dreamed that I would have such a person on my hands.
Dumbledore Chapter 27: Well — it’s just that you seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to — what is the phrase? — come quietly. I am afraid I am not going to come quietly at all, Cornelius. I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course — but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing.
    Half-blood Prince
“Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.” Albus Dumbledore Chapter 2
“Killing is not as easy as the innocent believe” Albus Dumbledore Chapter 27
    Deathly Hallows
“Do not pity the dead Harry, pity the living, and above all, those who live without love.” Dumbledore Chapter 35
“And that’s the second time we’ve saved your life tonight, you twofaced bastard!” Ron talking to Malfoy Chapter 32
“You are the true master of death Harry, because the true master does not seek to run away from death; he excepts that he must die, and understands that there are far more worse things in the living world than dying.” Dumbledore Chapter 35
