It looks like the best one yet, however, I can’t hear it since I’m at school! I’ve never wanted to be home so bad. lol.

    Awesome!

  3. Adam Says:

Now that i’ve heard it I’m much more surprised that WB was able to get the MPAA to give it a PG rating! this definitely looks like it should be PG-13!!!

  4. Arka Says:

Awfully kind of them to put the HP Progs watermark thing all the way in Japan ;) WB is so thoughtful!

And the Japanese voiceover thing is great – especially “Dumbledore”. But I’m quite interested to hear what you guys think about Dumbledore now. I think Gambon was fairly serious and quirky; he managed to not sound out of place or crazy. And overall, I think this trailer represents the book fairly well. I like how they but bits of the Draco and Slughorn plots in there.

Oh and honestly, I think Snape’s line was a bit out of character and all. Our new celebrity is one thing…

  5. revgeorge Says:

Listened to it without the sound, so I could only comment on Gambon from my reserve of dislike. :) I’m still not expecting great things, though.

Focusing in on something else, though, since I’m a romantic, is the kiss they show in there between Ginny & Harry the almost but not quite kiss in the Burrow before it gets attacked? ‘Cause it certainly doesn’t resemble what I picture their kiss after the Quidditch match to be like.

Very interesting. I wish I spoke/read Japanese so I knew what the subtitles said and what the voice was saying.

  7. Georges Says:

Do you guys still have a podcast?

  8. Michal Says:

Nice. I’m oddly impressed with the way Slughorn’s turning out; they seem to be highlighting both his sliminess and his guilt very well, and they could easily have gone just one way or the other. And obviously, like everyone else, I have to wonder at how this movie could possible be PG when it seems perfectly in keeping with the darkness of the book, with no ready answer available.

Hi, I would like everyone to read a blog that I wrote. Tell me what you think.
The most important theme in Harry Potter and Macbeth is DEATH. In Macbeth, death is the ongoing theme, and while not the only one, it is one of the most prevalent. The last act is a testament to this theme as it is basically a blood bath with death around every corner. As for the Harry Potter series, death looms over everything like a snake about to strike. Never is it more evident than in the final four novels. I saw The Importance of the theme from when Serious was killed at the end of Phoenix. I could relate with Harry and his loss. The importance of the theme really hit home not with a death, but with the two Epigraphs that proceeded the beginning of Deathly Hallows. They clearly spelled out to me that this book was no cakewalk, that it would be filled with more pain and loss, that it would cause me to shed even more tears. This theme, I think, is the reason I enjoy the books so much, and why I can’t get enough of them. Never in my life did I feel closer to a series and or book, never did I cry for characters like I did for the ones who past throughout the Series. This might sound stupid, but I felt I lost apart of me when each character I had come to love was killed. I think this is the reason why so many people love this Series, if you take a moment and think, you will most likely find that this is true. You might not have cried, you might not have even shed a tear, but deep down, you understood that you lost someone important and you just knew in your heart that the series wouldn’t be the same again without that character. When I first read Deathly Hallows, and I reached Dobby’s death, I thought that it would be the saddest one. But that paled in comparison when it appeared that Harry was going to die. I remember reading it and saying to myself-I wouldn’t believe it until the curse was cast. “He saw the mouth move and a flash of green light, and everything was gone”. After that sentence, I had to pause the CD, I had to think about the incontrovertible truth, Harry was dead, no longer alive, he had past on to that next great adventure as his mentor before, as his Godfather before him , and as his Mother and Father before them. It took me ten minutes to collect my thoughts, turn on the CD again, and finish the novel. Anyway, I kind of went off on a tangent from my point. In the end death is the most important theme in both Macbeth and Harry Potter. I didn’t cry over the play of Macbeth, mostly because I felt no relation with any characters in that play. I personally think I will never read something like that series ever, ever again. Many people that I have met say that the series is “bad and makes people study witchcraft” I say to them, If you believe in god or not, the Harry Potter series is much more than witchcraft and evil dark wizards, it is an intensely moral fable about good and evil, love and hatred, life and death. You learn that the most powerful magic on the face of this earth is not witchcraft, or evil dark magic, it is the ultimate power, one that every single person is brought in to this world with, one that is taken from you only by the way you were brought up or the people around you, this is love. If you have read this series, need I say anymore?

  13. Rosie Says:

Potters #1 Fan, that is amazing! You ahve perfectly mirrord what I felt while reading the books, and what I am sure countless other people all over the world have felt, and still feel. I just want to point out that Sirius isn’t spelt like serious.

  14. Potters Number 1 Fan Says:

Sorry, I suck at spelling because I almost never read the books in braille and so never see the spelling of names. I am not that fast at braille reading so I listen to Jim Dale (much better)!

  15. Bethel Says:

    Jim Dale is really good!

  16. Potters Number 1 Fan Says:
