Rowling was trying to use negative role models to encourage young girls to decide not to be like them. Make any sense? Anyway, I think that when young girls meet these characters and see their flaws, they are encouraged to make an effort to not make the same mistakes as these female characters. Really, all of the characters in Harry Potter are flawed in some way. Even Dumbledore admits that he is not perfect. Thanks for making this podcast, I'm really enjoying it!
