Get Your First Look At Azkatraz 2009
As we have mentioned before, Azkatraz 2009 will be taking place in San Fransisco this coming July 17-21, 2009. Azkatraz promises to be on of the best HPEF events yet and we hope you can make it. The first issue of “The Informant”, Azkatraz’s official newsletter is up and it has information about registration, the Half Blood Prince Movie Screening, special events and more! Also, as we all know, HP Progs has some of the most intelligent listeners and readers out there, so we wanted to remind you that you can still submit proposals for presentations at Azkatraz. Both Greg and I will be submitting proposals and perhaps this year, Greg will actually get one accepted ( 
).
You can go to the HPEF Website to register and remember that the sooner you register, the cheaper it will be. Just a little favor, when you do register make sure to write “HP Progs” in the referral area so that the folks at the HPEF know who sent ya there!

Gah! Okay, I’m debating going to Azkatraz…
-On the one hand: its awesomeness; HBP imax!; you guys– assuming that HP progs will be there; my parents will be going to NJ anyway that summer– why not just have me go to CA instead, and not bored out of my wits?; all the fandomness which I have never seen concentrated in one hotel before; Just going to a HP conference and fulfilling my moral obligations as a fan; West coast!; all the people I could meet; the intellectualness and all that jazz.
-Then again, $$$; plane tickets to San Fransisco…; I’ll definitely also want to go to Infinitus– theme park much?? (though I suppose I could try both…); I don’t really personally know anybody who’s going; I’ve never really been “alone” in a big city before.. I don’t even know if I can legally stay 3000 miles away from my parents for a few days!
Meh I’ll probably end up going to Azkatraz; then I can say, “You may have been to [random gathering] but I went to Azkatraz!” I can probably find someone I know who’s going anyway.

I am going to the US next year in July/August to catch up with relatives in Toronto then I am flying to Florida. I would love to go to a Hp conference, especially because that is all the fandom talks about for a couple of months. But I doubt my parents would want to travel all the way across America to go to something they don’t even like!

I wish I could go, but my parents said i could only go to a HP conference if it’s in a city where we have relatives, and I don’t have any relatives in San Francisco, sadly. You guys will just have to do an awesome job reporting on it like usual.

I wish!! It makes me so sad that I can’t go!! But if I’m lucky, on of my close relatives will decide that it has been their life-long dream to move to San Francisco, and I will get to go.
