Half Blood Prince Teaser Trailer Up on AOL After Early Release on MSN
We’ve all been anticipating the 9pm EST release of the official Half Blood Prince teaser trailer; but we can now see it an early released copy on MSN movies. It looks fantastic (although if one didn’t know better they might think that Tom Riddle was the main character in the story)!
AOL’s version is now up and it is beautiful in HD!! Wow.
Enjoy and tell us what you think!
Here’s a smaller version of the trailer:
UPDATE: We have put up screen shots of the teaser trailer on our Flickr page. Enjoy!

Yeah, already saw it from the link at Mugglenet. Looks good except for…

Gambon. I know.
July 29th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
I will agree that Gambon sounded a little cheesy in that first bit.
And for all you ambiguity-theory haters, I will simply quote the final words of the trailer:
“Did you know sir, then?”
“Did I know that I had met the most dangerous dark wizard of all time? No.”
Case closed.

Penny said, “Gambon. I know.”
Well, I wanted to try to give him a break. I’ve been hitting him pretty hard lately.

Excellent trailer, if a little lop-sided as to the actual plot; that might be the point, though. I do appreciate how they actually presented part of the story, not just dizzying the audience with a series of rapid cuts.
I do think they focused on the wrong dialogue for Riddle, though. The snake thing is really of minimal importance– the warning signs, obviously, were his aptitudes for causing pain.

wow. I waited so long for this.

And now I gotta wait another 115 days.

Michael,
Great point about the dizzying rapidity of clips. I hate it when they do that. I’ll never understand why more people don’t go into epileptic shock when they do.

Whatever you think about Gambon though, the cave/inferi sequence looks like it’s going to be shot well.

What do you all think of the shot of Ginny? We’ve been trying to figure it out over at The Hogshead? Is it her during or after the attack on the Burrow?

I’m pretty sure I hear J.K. Rowling’s voice in the trailer, the lady at the orphanage (just the voice, not the actor).

revgeorge,
i’ve been wondering about the same thing. what scene is that supposed to be with Ginny?
July 30th, 2008 at 12:43 am
Wow. GORGEOUS HD. I haven’t seen the Harris movies in quite a while but I never had a problem with Gambon myself. *ducks*
And I can’t WAIT for the cave scene. No matter how much plot they cut to make these movies, I always love them for the incredible visuals of the climactic scenes.
Will listen to Ep 86 soon.

I loved it!!! I like the focus they took because I think that it gives us just enough to be really excited while we begin the long wait until its released. I cannot wait!!

I wish they would have shown something of Snape though. I am looking forward to the cave scene. I hope they do the dialogue justice.
July 30th, 2008 at 9:20 am
I do think it looks like they are trying to preserve the Snape reveal from those who have not read the books.

Greg & Penny,
Are you sure that’s not Moses or Gandalf in the last screen shot? Looks awfully close.
July 30th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Gotta agree with revgeorge, it’s too close to call! (Was it just me, or was Gambon giving off an especially Gandalf-ish air throughout the trailer)?
July 30th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Greg & Penny,
Any ideas about what the scene with Ginny might be?

I have been thinking about the Ginny shot too? It looks like it could be really a good movie though. Young Tom looks pretty right on.

Interesting. The little boy Tom appears so innocent in the trailer.

It’s strange to think how young and innocent Tom Riddle is in the orphanage and he becomes Voldemort,
but where would we be without Voldie? He’s well the best, save Bellatrix!
can’t WAIT to see Bella in the new movie!
Helena Bonham Carter was always how i pictured her, she’s amazing!
I do aswell wanna’ see Snape though..
