Episode # 68 will be a bit late this week

Hey All.  Episode 68 will be recorded late this week, therefore will probably be a bit late getting to you.  Right now we are looking to record it on Friday morning.  We apologize for the inconvenience. We have gotten some pretty great sound files for the episode though and we can’t wait to include them in the Patterns in Potter discussion.

Keep on Prognosticating!!

UPDATE
Due to some circumstances beyond out control, we were unable to record this morning. We are looking at HOPEFULLY recording sometime on Saturday Night. Once again, we apologize. If you still feel like you need and hpprogs fix, let me suggest some of our better episodes to re-listen to:

-Episode #44: “Prophecy 2007 Recap.” If you are wondering what all the fuss about Portus 2008 is, listen to our thoughts on Prophecy 2007.
-Episode #48: “Dumbledore and The Greater Good.”
-Episode #53: “The Making of a Wizard: The Story of Neville Longbottom
-Episode #55: Dumbledore is Gay! (Not That There Is Anything Wrong With That): our initial reactions to the news when JKR outed good ol’ Dumbledore.
-Episode #64: Ronald Weasley: We were in really good moods when we recorded this episode and our giddiness was sort of contagious.

Well that is ok. I think we should take this opportunity to reflect apon the great symbology and comparison between Lord Voldemort and Palipatine who both had control through fear and tyranny and were thwarted by a young men both orphaned in youth not knowing their background and raised by Aunt and Uncles.
There is a great similarity between Han Solo and say Hagrid. ( come on if Peter Griffif can be Han so can Hagrid!) Actually Ron fits that role with Hermine as the sister princess that could have been a romance with the protagonist in each story. Also Yoda and Dumbledore the teaching benefactors both dead before the end. ( Wonder if Yoda was gay?)
There are many many similarities. Enough in fact to make me conclude that JK Rowling is actually George Lucas clean shaven with a wig.
Well that is my conspiracy theory what do you think?

    Aaron,

Interesting thoughts. As for Yoda’s preferences, weren’t all the Jedi supposed to be celibate no matter what? As for Aunts & Uncles, I’d say Luke got the better deal, because at least his aunt & uncle loved him & provided for him, even if Owen was somewhat hard on him. But he wasn’t doing so out of jealousy for what Anakin became but out of fear.

Interesting how all great books & movies echo a lot of the same themes.

Thanks revgeorge! I didn’t even touch on the religious implications in both series. Both have very devoted scenes and or chapters to life after death and both have characters returning from death to only speak and be seen by the hero. In both series they are there for courage, encouragement and praise. I kinda like that angle compared to having Yoda or Dumbledore reanimating and trying to eat live brains because of some mutant virus.

that was a good idea about the episodes. i think you guys have enough to maybe have a top ten or something as chosen by yourselves or voted upon by the viewers.

I know the podcast will be great, so I don’t mind wating. :)
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the Weasley twins for some reason. I’m kind of curious as to how JKR chose who to kill, Fred or George. I was also wondering if you see any characteristics in one of the twins that you don’t see in the other/see more of a certain characteristic in one. Do you have a favorite? If anyone has any thoughts on this while we’re waiting for the podcast (or after it’s released!) I would love to hear them.

I really don’t care how long it takes, as longs as it’s put to par with all of the other episodes!!!!!
