I didn't even touch on the religious implications in both series. Both have very devoted scenes and or chapters to life after death and both have characters returning from death to only speak and be seen by the hero. In both series they are there for courage, encouragement and praise. I kinda like that angle compared to having Yoda or Dumbledore reanimating and trying to eat live brains because of some mutant virus. Thanks revgeorge! As for Aunts & Uncles, I'd say Luke got the better deal, because at least his aunt & uncle loved him & provided for him, even if Owen was somewhat hard on him. I think we should take this opportunity to reflect apon the great symbology and comparison between Lord Voldemort and Palipatine who both had control through fear and tyranny and were thwarted by a young men both orphaned in youth not knowing their background and raised by Aunt and Uncles. There is a great similarity between Han Solo and say Hagrid. ( come on if Peter Griffif can be Han so can Hagrid!) Actually Ron fits that role with Hermine as the sister princess that could have been a romance with the protagonist in each story.
