HPProgs Thank You Book
We decided in the comment thread of the last post that we wanted to put together a thank you book for JK Rowling from the HPPROGS community. Our listener, Michal (who is a “she” by the way), has graciously offered to organize the effort. Please take some time to participate in this endeavor. It has the potential to be an amazing collaboration on all of our parts.
The following is a message from Michal:
As you may have heard, HPProgs is putting together a “Thank You” book for Jo Rowling. Everyone is invited to submit their letters of thanks, praise and reminiscence to the wonderful woman who has given us all so much. Artwork and poetry can also be included if you wish. All entries will be organized in a binder and sent to Jo- hopefully, we may get a response!
Guidelines are as follows:
1)Please email your letters to me (Michal) at inkasrain@yahoo.com
2)Please submit your letters by SEPTEMBER 1st 2007.
3)Please send letters in file attachments- I will try to keep the format you put together. The greater stylistic variety, the better!
4)TRY not to have your letters exceed two printed pages- although I do understand if you go over, it’s Jo after all.
5)Please spell-check and edit your letters carefully. Unless circumstances dictate otherwise, I will print them out as I receive them.
6)Artwork/handwritten letters must be scanned and sent in file attachments. Please make sure that it will be legible and clear after it has been scanned and re-printed. (I am not sure about color printing yet.)

I’m definately doing this, I can’t wait. Is there any way we can post the files somewhere on a HPProgs site so we can all see what each other has done? This is wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL!

I Would just like to say that I listen to both your podcast and mugglecast. And I would just like to say that your podcast is so much better than there’s and I would just like to thank you for the awsome work that you have put into it.

I’m about to start on a drawing for it! Yay! And, of course, I must write a letter. Yes Amanda, I am a Mugglecast listener too. And when I first started listening to it, I was a HUGE fan and thought everything else was really stupid and I hated everything other that Mugglecast. Then I started listening to HPProgs and everything changed immeadiatly. I still listen to it, though.

I listened to one mugglecast episode but i didnt think they but any flavor in it.
but hp progs, no i dont remember which episode i listened to first but i do remember that I laughed, and I thought ya’ll were very real and down to earth.
And I’ve been listening ever since.
(nd i unsubscribed to mugglecast ugh!)

Great idea, I was thinking this morning how nice it would be to actually thank Ms Rowling.
I too am a mugglecast listener, but they come second now to HPProgs, because you guys always get to the point, whereas I am screaming at my ipod over some subjects they just don’t see right in front of them.

I think this is a great idea! I will definitely do it. Thanks for giving us a whole month, I’m swamped at the moment.
I have an idea of a picture I want to include. I hope you can do color. Is there any chance of snail mailing a page so I could include color?

I just sent mine in. And about MuggleCast, I think it is a great podcast, as well as this one. They are very different, MC is more community driven and comedic, while HP Progs is more thought provoking with quality content every week. So it really is hard to compare them, and I thoroughly enjoy both. It’s no reason to bash them just because you’re posting on this site, they really are a great podcast.
