W.O.M.B.A.T.s now available

With the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows so close,  the third and last W.O.M.B.A.T. test is now available on JK Rowling’s web site

According to the site,

The Grade 3 WOMBAT is the final examination, and the most difficult. Not only is the subject matter much more advanced, but the examination is also more stringently marked. Certain answers will LOSE YOU MARKS, so choose carefully…

HPANA has info on how to access the W.O.M.B.A.T.

Greg and I will be taking it and you better believe we will be posting our scores (and expecting my score to surpass his).  Let us know how you do.

Penny:)

Just took it! :) Thanks for giving me the heads up!

  2. Greg Says:

I took the test, but it did not give me my results.

The test was hard, where are we supposed to have gotten this information from?

Some of the questions are clearly meant to act as clues to what is going to be important in Book 7.

I took it this morning. I’ll probably take it again though. It was really hard, my brain is fried! All that history stuff! Where are we supposed to learn those things?

Greg, the scores usually take about a week or so to come out. No need to panic. I just hope I’m not a Troll! I got Exceeds Expectations on the first two!

I agree, Greg- some of those clues seemed to shout out at me… of course, I can’t quite recall which anymore. Memory charm, anyone?

Also, the symbol we had to put together is the very same at can be found on the spine of the UK children’s edition cover… hmm.

I took notes as I took the test. Lots of names of historical Goblins. And the question about magic, can a witch or wizard make food out of thin air, etc.?

I want to know the answers to the questions. I hope the book explains some of this. I’ve long wondered if they can make food out of nothing. Mrs. Weasley can make a creamy sauce from her wand, they can make water (and, apparently, wine) and Harry at least implies Merope could have made food by magic, but I’m still a bit unclear. Where’s the limit? If they can make food, why couldn’t Mrs. Weasley make Ron a nice set of dress robes that would highlight his eye or hair color?

And all of the ministers of magic, that was an interesting question but I just had to guess for all but Fudge.

There was a lot more I was curious about yesterday but I’ve forgotten now what they were.
