International OoTP Trailer
While we don’t usually focus so much on the movies, we would be remiss if we didn’t point you in the direction of the new International trailer for Order of the Phoenix. One word. WOW.

I definately have to get a black suit like Voldemorte at the station. That’s a cool look for him. Very ominous indeed. I have watched this 4 times and each time I see 2 or 3 things I hadn’t earlier. Talk about sensory overload.

I watched it 5 or 6 times last night and paused/unpaused/paused/unpaused it. It really is great. I was thinking about the suit voldemort was wearing as well. Looked a bit too muggle to me. Now, I am assuming harry was imagining him at the train station, but why in a muggle’ish suit?
It seems like Daniel Radcliffe really got the angst and anger of Harry in this book/movie. I am so excited!

Yeah, I have to say I am FINALLY getting properly excited for this movie… the footage looks incredible. I cannot wait for the scenes at the end with battle in the ministry. I am really astounded by the scope of all the scenes in the trailer- the thestral flight and the Dumbledore/Voldy fight in particular. I loved the DA scenes as well- it is really cool finally seeing the students empower themselves by practicing all that defensive magic on film. It was all very slick… the fun is back. I am going to try and see it in IMAX 3D when it comes out- I can’t miss that experience.

My initial reactions after the trailer were all over the place, the scenes with the twins before they leaved looked great, both Umbridge, and Bellatrix are exactly how i pictured them, I’m truly excited for the movie, My initial reaction was that is did not like/get the Voldy @ on Platform 9 and 3/4. I realized though talking it over with one of my friends that, that was the way they chose to show Harry’s link to Voldy. It wouold have been terribly difficult to show it all in dream forms and such, as it is explained in the book, so they portray it as harry just sees Voldy in normal situations. I have to say I’m really interested to see how it works out.

Voldemort at the station was interesting… I felt like they were trying to show how prominent he is in Harry’s mind. I hope they are taking the metaphorical route here, and aren’t actually having Voldemort be like, hey yall, don’t mind me- I’m just gonna pull a freak out on Potter here. Carry on! Or… something to that affect.
As for the suit… ok, first let me say I found it pretty fine looking. I love old fashioned on gyus. The end. Otherwise… I guess they were going for surreal/anachronistic because obviously Voldemort would never deign to wear Muggle rags.
(Oh, the internal struggle!)

[...] OK, if it got our listener, Michal, to rethink her purist ideals and consider seeing the movie, you know the international trailer was a success. [...]

penny, i think Voldermort being at the station, with the train which looks very wrecked and people trapped ( well it does to me) indicates mabe sumting to do with voldermorts return being oblivious to the public due to the daily prophet and may also the symbolise the destruction he may cause. the suit just makes him look conspicuous
