“So You Think OUR Accents are Rubbish?” Contest Rules
Hi everyone! As we announced in episode 27, we will be holding the first EVER Harry Potter Prognostications contest. In case you were so enraptured by the end of our podcast and can’t remember the rules, I will write them out for you here as well as a bit of background information.
1. This contest is the result of a few too many “your British accent is rubbish!” comments to Greg.
2. This contest is for all of our non-American accented listeners (that means you, listeners from : the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, Lithuania, France, Denmark, anywhere else I may forget to mention). Don’t worry, Americans and Canadians: there will be plenty for you in the future:)
3. Here is what you’ve got to do: First, introduce yourself in your regular accent: your name and where you are from will do. Next, read the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence in your best American Accent- record the reading as an mp3 file and send it to us at harrypotterprogs at yahoo dot com (a.k.a. the address we give you at the end of each and every episode).
4. The person with the best submission will be selected and will be our guest host on a future episode.
5. Please send us the file no later than April 15, 2007.

You should have a contest were Americans are eligible to participate. I was excited at the beginining of the show when you said you were going to have a contest. Then, I was sad when you announced that it was for non-Americans only. The contest idea was great, but as I said I would like to be able to participate. Well, thanks for the great podcast!

This is a totally cool idea. Jessica don’t feel excluded as Greg and Penny have already said American and Canadian listeners will have there chance. I think including the audience is a unique and fun idea. All the major book news is out so the Prognosticators are being innovative and avoiding the same ol same ol rut about talking about the same stuff every week. I look forward to hearing the contest and who ever wins on the podcast. I love the fact that it’s the Declaration of Independance, Again great idea and keep on prognosticating.

I just have to say i adore your podcast it is so awesome. As a side note i’d like to say that all that crap about greg being annoying is so dumb. If greg is reading this don’t listen to them you and penny are allowed to say whatever you want so dont change you guys make a great team which makes a great podcast. This contest sounds really cool but i live in Ohio so maybe you could in the future make a contest for those of us in the home of the brave and the land of the free. You guys are my favorite podcast ever and don’t ever stop. Your ideas are great and totally changed my mind about the entire potter world. I’m considering trusting snape now so thanks for broadening my horizon. Keep on prognosticating.
P.S. i might be in maryland over the summer to visit my grandparents so let us know about that party thing soon please so i can make my plans!!
