Amazon lists Deathly Hallows available March 31, 2007 (???)

Ruth left a comment pointing out that the search results page for Deathly Hallows on Amazon.com shows Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as available March 31, 2007!!! See screenshot below.  Not sure if this is the date of publication, or perhaps the date that it will be available to order; the page for Deathly Hallows itself does not appear to be updated, still allowing only email alert signups.

Not really thoughts – more like stunned silences and gasps on my part.

OMG thats amazing!!! That’s my birthday!! Squeee.

    Hopefully its true.

  3. Kim Says:

Um, not to be a buzzkill, but until Bloomsbury or Scholastic confirms it- we’ve been told NOT to follow what booksellers are saying, especially with the amount of hoaxes out there.

I dunno if you two will read this here, but I just wanted to leave you guys a comment saying how much I LOVE your show!! I seriously look forward to each podcast that you all send out! My friend first told me about your podcast, and ever since I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them. Penny, you are so freaking hilarious! I adore your witty comments, and I crack up everytime when you two disagree on something! Greg, your ideas and insights are really good, lots of times when you both mention something new, I’m like “Wow, I’ve never thought of it like that!” So that’s really cool. Anyway, keep up the awesome work, and to be sure this comment is somewhat useful, I’ll say that I’m really doubting that date for the release, but, it’s strange how it’s posted like that on Amazon…. hmm.

    Bye guys!

    Your new fan,
    Spenser

Hrmmm… If I’m not mistaken, Bloomsbury recently issued a statement that Amazon is not even authorized to do pre-selling yet….

  6. penny Says:

Probabaly, yvaine. I am thinking this is not a possibility (I am not dissapointed about that at all) but I was excited about the discussions that would ensue from this.

I really can’t imagine why Amazon has that date on their website though, y’know?

  7. Deanna Says:

If anything, I’m guessing that’s when we’ll be able to preorder. odd though. I tried to start a discussion on Leaky to see if anyone knew anything more, but a moderator closed it down saying it was a duplicate discussion. But I searched for “March” and “amazon” and couldn’t find anyone else talking about it! Thanks for opening up the discussion. You guys are my favorite podcst, and even if Penny’s given up on Podcast Alley, I still put in my January vote for you :-)

I keep checking Amazon thinking they will delete the date but it is still there. It does make sense that it would be the date for preorder availability.

What I don’t get is why everyone else in the HP world is ignoring this date. I understand that it is highly improbable that this is the release date (and that makes me quite happy) but Amazon isn’t stupid- I don’t exactly think they fall under the category of HP hoaxers and if March 31 is the date for pre-order, then we can start speculating on the real release date (something that has never been limited in the HP world). I am just confused…

Thanks for the votes of confidence (in more than one way), Deanna (and everyone else)!
