Episdoe #3: Update

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This week’s been pretty busy, so Episode #3 will be postponed for a few days (I’m hoping to be able to do it tonight or tomorrow, so we can have it up over the weekend).

In other news, we’ve got 27 subscribers so far, including 14 from iTunes (one of which is me, but whatever).  Awesome!  Thanks so much to everyone who commented (Dan and Tammy!) and subscribed (we need some more reviews on iTunes, though!).

Stay tuned, we’ve got more progs coming your way!

Episode #2 - Snape: Good, Bad or Both?

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

In this podcast, Penny and I discuss Snape. Is he a good guy, acting under orders from Dumbledore? Or is he really a double-agent, still allied to Voldemort? Or is he both, or just out for himself? Along the way we discuss what effect perpetrating a murder has on oneself; is it possible that, even though Snape may have been acting on the side of good, that he may still be considered a murderer by the Wizarding World? Towards the end, Penny and I offer our prognostications as to not only Snape’s allegiences, but how it will all play out in Book 7.

Tune in to find out what we think, and leave your own thoughts in the comments. This discussion went in a very different direction then I had thought it would originally, I think you’ll like it.

A few administrative notes: we’re on iTunes! Now you can subscribe to the HPProgs podcast directly in iTunes, and leave reviews for the iTunes community. So please, visit our iTunes page, and if you have time, leave us a review, which will help more folks find out about the podcast. I’ll be updating the blog over the next few days with links to iTunes as well as to other podcasting services (Odeo, Podnova, etc.).

Thanks again for listening, please spread the word and send us your links!

Episode #1: Will Harry Make It?

Monday, September 18th, 2006

In our first episode, Penny and I prognosticate as to Harry’s fate. JK Rowling has dropped many hints indicating that Harry’s future may not be so bright, but would she really kill off everyone’s favorite hero? Tune in to hear what we think, and, of course, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.

Welcome (Back)!

Friday, September 15th, 2006

Hi everybody! You may remember me, Greg, from the original Harry Potter Prognostications blog. I really enjoyed posting my thoughts on the Potter books, and even more enjoyed the comments and feedback from everyone else who read the blog. Well, after a short break, I’m back, mostly thanks to me wife, Penny, who came up with the idea that we start podcasting some of the discussions we had about Harry Potter. So here we are, back again. From now on, everything will be over here at hpprogs.com; I’m going to keep the stuff over at the old site as is, this site will be for the podcasts and any future commentary.

I should have all the appropriate links and such for iTunes, etc. up within a few days; in the mean time, click on our podcast feed (http://www.hpprogs.com/feed/) to subscribe to the podcast in your favorite podcast aggregator. And check back weekly on Wednesdays, if all goes well, that’s when we plan to release. I hope you’ll enjoy our thoughts and leave your own in the comments, please spread the word, and thanks for listening!
